Google has issued an update that fixes a security vulnerability in its Chrome browser. It is a “Zero-day” vulnerability, which means that it is already widespread among hackers and is unknown to the browser developers until they discover and fixes it. It has been registered under the title CVE-2024-0519.
We recommend users update to version 120.0.6099.224/225 for Windows, and 120.0.6099.234 for Mac. Version 120.0.6099.224 for Linux operating systems. For users of Chromium-based browsers, such as Brave or Opera, update to the latest version based on the aforementioned versions.
Update method:
- Open browsers
- Open the browser menu.
- Last menu select About
- On the About page you will find the version number, and in Windows systems it is possible to update the browser from the same page
For other systems, the browser can be updated from the application store.
For security and privacy considerations, we recommend using the #Firefox browser as the main browser for basic tasks, and when necessary, using the Chrome browser as a secondary browser for any subtasks during which we may need another browser.
