WhatsApp released a major update to iPhone and Android phones to treat two security flaws that allow the attacker to hack the victim’s phone and implant malware through video calls, or by sending a video to the victim’s phone.
The flaws was given the CVE identifier CVE-2022-36934 with score 9.8 out of 10, which means that it is a high-risk Flaw. The second Flaw was given the CVE identifier CVE-2022-27492 related to hacking the victim’s device by sending a video. with score 7.8 out of 10.
To avoid security risks, we recommend updating Android and iPhone smartphones to version 2.22.16.12 or later, for WhatsApp and Whatsapp Business apps.
We also recommend that you update all apps daily to avoid using any app without security updates.
