Firefox users are experiencing difficulties accessing the X.com website following its domain change from Twitter.com. Upon enabling the Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) feature, users encounter an error message stating, “Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection is known to cause issues on X.com.”

ETP is a robust privacy tool that shields users from online trackers that gather data about their browsing habits and online interests. The issue is believed to stem from ETP’s conflict with referencing resources on the x.com domain from the old twitter.com domain.

Acknowledging the problem faced by X users with ETP, the Firefox team, according to a post on the X website, is working on a fix and expects to resolve the issue promptly.

Temporarily disable ETP for X.com only:

  • Open Firefox.
  • Access browser settings from the dropdown menu.
  • Navigate to Privacy & Security settings from the sidebar.
  • Under Enhanced Tracking Protection settings, open Manage Exceptions.
  • In the website address field, enter “x.com.”
  • Click Add Exception.

Caution: Disabling ETP for X.com will allow trackers to collect data about you on this site.
