Google issued an update to correct a security vulnerability in its #Chrome browser, which is a “zero-day” vulnerability, which means that it is a vulnerability unknown to browser developers until the time it was discovered and corrected, and it was registered as CVE-2023-3079, and this is the third time that Google has discovered a vulnerability of the same kind in its browser during 2023.
We recommend users to update to version 114.0.5735.110 for Windows, and 114.0.5735.106 for Linux and Mac operating systems. For users of browsers based on “Chromium” such as Brave or Opera, update to the latest version based on the aforementioned versions.
Update method:
- open browsers
- Open browser menu
- At the end of the list, select About
- On the About page, you will find the version number, and on Windows systems, it is possible to update the browser from the same page
- For other systems, the browser can be updated from the application store.
For security and privacy considerations, we recommend using the Firefox browser as a main browser for basic tasks, and when needed, using Chrome as a secondary browser for any subtasks during which we may need another browser.
