Mozilla and Google have released emergency updates to Firefox, Thunderbird email browsing software, and the Chrome web browser to fix security vulnerability,tracked as CVE-2023-4863, through which the user’s device can be hacked by opening a malicious WebP image.

We recommend that users update to Firefox versions 117.0.1, Firefox ESR 115.2.1, Thunderbird 115.2.2, and Google Chrome versions 116.0.5845.187/188 on Windows, and 116.0.5845.187 on macOS and Linux.

For users of applications built on the aforementioned software, such as the Brave browser, update to the version based on the versions mentioned.
